Lindela Repatriation Camp

They arrested him. They processed him. They sent him back (to the Transkei)because he was illegal.

They did that from 1948 to 1994. The Nationalists did it. We called it apartheid.

They arrested him. They processed him. They sent him back (to Malawi)because he was illegal.

They are doing it today - they call it repatriation. The ANC is doing it to their African brothers.

Can someone explain to me from a moral point of view what the difference is between these two actions? And I thought the ANC would understand...

An individual moving around on the face of this planet in search of a better life - who is the state to stop this from happening?

I believe that it is wrong to prevent individuals to go to where they want to, to trade their labour to whoever wants to pay for it.

No coersion, no force - free trade.

6 weeks later and he is back - legally! Hurray - he paid R 300 at the Beit Bridge border post after being kept at lindela for 3 weeks, FLOWN back to Malawi on our (taxpayer) expense - what a ridiculous system.

Scrap this whole illegal immigrant repatriation nonsense.

It is worse than APARTHEID ever was.
